There’s a challenge that many are experiencing but are either too embarrassed to seek help for – OR – have not been able to find a solution for. Snoring.
Many people seek help but fail to find relief for symptoms related to snoring. Too often, patients are told a problem is “all in their head,” when the problems – often a result of sleep disorders and temporomandibular disorder (TMD) – are very real. In fact, the National Sleep Foundation estimates, some 18 million adults have obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), and some 2 to 3 percent of children may also be affected.
TMD/TMJ and sleep disorders are physically “all in your head,” or almost anyway. The problems associated with TMJ and breathing-related sleep disorders are in your mouth, and your jaws, and your airway, and maybe even your neck and shoulders. If you don’t do something about the problems, then they can affect other areas of the body as well. In short, if your body is telling you something is wrong, you must listen and get help.
Whether you snore, your spouse snores, or any other family member snores – it’s a problem for everyone involved. Restless nights for one or more parties, chronic pain, frustration, embarrassment – it doesn’t need to continue. No matter your age, weight, or gender, ANYONE can experience these symptoms. Fix your snore: sleep better and have better health.
